KSIGN is concentrating group capabilities on the quantum cryptography market. Rather than resting on its leading share of Korea’s encryption market, it plans to secure future growth drivers early.

Information security specialist KSIGN (KOSDAQ 192250, CEOs Koo Ja-dong and Choi Hyun-cheol) announced on the 20th that it would jointly develop technologies needed for migration to post-quantum cryptography with its AI security technology subsidiary SANDS Lab (KOSDAQ 411080, CEO Kim Ki-hong).

Security is one of the fields most affected by advances in quantum technology. As quantum computers could defeat public-key authentication and conventional cryptography, major countries including the United States are rapidly developing plans to migrate existing systems to post-quantum cryptography. Korea has likewise established a master plan to transition its national cryptographic systems to PQC by 2035.

KSIGN, which developed Korea’s first PKI authentication solution, is a leader in encryption, authentication and key management solutions. Its cryptographic development expertise, extensive infrastructure deployment experience and business know-how give it the capability to migrate and build legacy equipment and systems for PQC. The group currently has two affiliates, SANDS Lab and AI Deep.

SANDS Lab follows a different business path. It researches and develops cybersecurity-specific AI using big data and AI, securing a technological advantage through domestic and international patents. Its efforts to apply this technology to next-generation products such as CTI and NDR have attracted attention for bringing new approaches to established markets.

The joint effort combines KSIGN’s established cryptography with SANDS Lab’s innovative AI to develop security technologies essential for PQC migration. KSIGN’s authentication technology will support communication protocol and cryptographic algorithm migration systems, while SANDS Lab’s network technology will analyze algorithms, protocols and application status. Real-time monitoring will validate interoperability with legacy cryptography and address potential problems, enabling a hybrid security framework.

The global PQC market, valued at USD 580 million last year, is emerging as an attractive new market, forecast to grow at 29.19% annually to USD 2.09 billion in 2029. KSIGN intends to become a dominant player through its hybrid security strategy, maximizing group synergies.

KSIGN Director Kim Jeong-mi said, “We will focus company-wide capabilities on acquiring and validating the technologies needed for PQC migration as part of the group’s future business portfolio.” She expressed confidence that “we will once again demonstrate the equation we established in existing markets: encryption security means KSIGN.”

SANDS Lab Director In Shin-gyo said, “Quantum cryptographic security requires a perfect combination of new and established technologies. This makes it an ideal pairing for SANDS Lab and KSIGN, members of the same group, and a field particularly suited to joint development.” He added, “Following AI security, we will build solid foundational technologies for quantum security and contribute to future industrial development.”

KSIGN will also operate a joint group exhibition booth at eGISEC 2025, the e-Government Solution Fair held at KINTEX in Gyeonggi Province from March 19 to 21. Visitors can see major group products in one place, including KSignKMS encryption key management, Wizpass for mOTP mobile authentication and MNX network detection and response.
