AI security technology specialist SANDS Lab (KOSDAQ 411080, CEO Kim Ki-hong) has independently developed AI-based post-quantum cryptography (PQC) assessment technology.

As quantum computer commercialization accelerates, telecom operators are racing to introduce quantum cryptographic communication technologies in preparation for computing that could defeat encrypted SSL communications. National institutions are also speeding up the transition to secure, quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms. Network solutions that integrate with quantum networking for high-speed, high-volume traffic and quantum-encrypted communications are therefore expected to become essential countermeasures.

SANDS Lab focuses on developing next-generation security technologies using its own big data and AI. It offers products optimized for detecting and analyzing emerging threats, such as the AI-based NDR solution MNX, while independently developing cybersecurity-specific AI and commercializing it across its solutions and services.

The new AI-based PQC assessment technology identifies and classifies whether network communications use secure cryptographic systems, providing evidence of possible quantum-computing-related hacking risks. Integrated into MNX, it clearly and precisely visualizes communications without quantum resistance and presents current communication status intuitively.

The technology does more than simply identify and display quantum resistance. SANDS Lab’s AI assistant provides LLM-based explanations of threats and detailed security guidance for quantum-resistant communications. Like an assistant working alongside the operator, it explains causes, impacts and step-by-step actions, from immediate measures to specific medium- and long-term responses.

PQC is already being adopted in various VPN solutions, but MNX is the first NDR solution worldwide to include this capability. The company believes that real-time monitoring and assessment are indispensable when migrating communications to PQC, and that early leadership in this technology will provide an advantage in the future quantum security market.

In Shin-gyo, director overseeing R&D, said, “With advanced quantum-resistance identification, we expect MNX to gain recognition not only in today’s AI security market but also in quantum security.” He added, “We have completed a patent application for this proprietary foundational technology and will focus on strengthening and securing technological capabilities for future markets.”

MNX is SANDS Lab’s next-generation AI-based network threat detection and response solution. It analyzes packets across all network traffic in real time to identify unknown threats, using AI to visualize and uncover threats that evade existing security systems or cannot otherwise be traced, while delivering high usability and detection performance.
