SANDS Lab wraps up CES 2026 — from home appliances to physical AI, confirming the need for NDR security
SANDS Lab successfully wrapped up its participation in CES 2026, confirming strong global interest in its AI security technology.
AI security firm SANDS Lab (KOSDAQ 411080, CEO Kim Ki-hong) announced it successfully concluded its participation in CES 2026, the world's largest IT and appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas through January 9, confirming strong interest and business potential for its AI security technology in the global appliance and tech markets.
The company's CES participation was the result of a mid-to-long-term global strategy spanning more than two years, not a one-off event. Despite it being an unusual move for a software/solution-focused security company to exhibit at an appliance show, SANDS Lab upgraded its AI security technology into a form applicable to appliance and IoT environments and prepared a structure for collaborating with global appliance makers.
On-site, SANDS Lab observed that as IT-driven industries such as robotics, appliances, mobility, and AI grow rapidly, the scope and trends of security applications are shifting as well. In particular, so-called 'physical AI' — AI that performs physical actions — is structurally dependent on network connectivity, making real-time network-based threat monitoring and response all the more important.
Against this backdrop, the AI-based miniaturized NDR SANDS Lab showcased was recognized as offering optimal security scalability and usability even in appliance, robotics, and mobility domains with significant physical constraints. Although the exhibit centered on an ultra-compact network security device for home IoT, the booth also received a number of inquiries about applying NDR in enterprise environments.
The company also discussed potential collaboration with a number of Chinese appliance makers regarding the previously hard-to-enter Chinese market, while validating the technology's potential as a network security solution usable in enterprise and industrial settings as well.
CEO Kim Ki-hong said, "Having spent more than 20 years in the security industry, global market entry has always felt like unfinished business. This CES gave us the conviction that, over the next decade, SANDS Lab should build productive business in larger markets rather than exhausting itself competing in small ones."
SANDS Lab expects to produce tangible business results within three to five years through the global partners it met at this year's CES.
