SANDS Lab Demonstrates NET-Certified AI Profiling Technology on the Global Stage

  • Korean cybersecurity technology draws strong local interest
  • Minimizing analyst time needed to provide objective digital evidence of cyber threats
  • AI overcomes conventional profiling’s reliance on experts’ subjective interpretations

Cyber threat intelligence specialist SANDS Lab (KOSDAQ: 411080; CEO Kim Ki-hong) unveiled its latest AI security technology at VB2023 in London on October 4.

Organized by global antivirus testing organization VirusBulletin, VB2023 brings together major security vendors and experts from diverse fields worldwide for presentations and discussions.

The AI Technology Development Team presented “AI-based digital evidence enhancement technology for profiling attack groups and techniques to respond to cybersecurity threats” at TIPS (Threat Intelligence Practitioners’ Summit), a special track for Cyber Threat Alliance members.

The technology, DBP (Deep Binary Profiler), profiles attackers through binary reverse engineering and is used throughout SANDS Lab’s services and solutions. When unknown malware appears, it traces relationships against historical data, automatically identifies them, and provides analysis. AI thus responds rapidly and efficiently without human intervention and generates supporting evidence.

This next-generation technology received NET certification from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2021, holds over 30 related patents, and has over 10 US patent applications. Quantified, data-driven information strengthens digital evidence, overcoming insufficient objectivity and confusion caused by inaccurate information based on individual experts’ experience.
