SANDS Lab wins Minister's Award at the '2025 New Technology Commercialization Promotion Contest'
SANDS Lab received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy for the 2025 Industrial Technology Promotion Merit awards.
AI security firm SANDS Lab (KOSDAQ 411080, CEO Kim Ki-hong) announced it received a commendation from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy on the 10th, in the New Technology Commercialization Promotion category of the 2025 Industrial Technology Promotion Merit awards.
The Industrial Technology Promotion Merit award recognizes institutions and individuals who have contributed to commercializing industrial technology, judged mainly on technical completeness, commercial effectiveness, and applicability in the field. SANDS Lab was recognized highly for commercializing its AI-based analysis and profiling technology — which received NET (New Excellent Technology) certification in both 2021 and 2022 — and contributing to technological innovation in Korea's AI security industry.
DBP (Deep Binary Profiler), which received NET certification in 2021, profiles the structure of attack techniques through binary reverse-engineering. DDP (Deep Document Profiler), certified in 2022, profiles non-executable malware such as documents and images through multi-dimensional metadata extraction and analysis — both are SANDS Lab's core technologies for detecting threats that conventional security systems miss.
SANDS Lab has commercialized DBP and DDP within its cyber threat intelligence (CTI) service 'CTX' and its network detection and response (NDR) solution 'MNX,' proving the effectiveness of AI security across industry.
CEO Kim Ki-hong said, "This award recognizes that SANDS Lab's new technologies didn't stop at development but were commercialized and delivered meaningful results in real industrial settings. We will keep accelerating our AI innovation to strengthen industry-wide cyber-threat response capabilities needed for the agentic AI era."
SANDS Lab plans to expand its development into cybersecurity-specialized AI-agent-based security, broadening its scope to cover personal data breaches and deepfake manipulation for the finance, public, and enterprise sectors.
